PCR

ilochip has developed a generic, rapid and robust DNA amplification technology in a format suitable for MEMS that lives up to the ILOC concept of flexibility and re-configurability. The performance of the system is extraordinary and matches the best DNA amplification engines on the market. The ilochip device can run a 40-cycle PCR in less than 25 minutes (see accompanying figure), making it one of the fastest PCR instruments in existence. The temperature cycling time for PCR amplification is likely to be reduced further as new versions of the chip become available. The figure demonstrates the reproducibility of each temperature cycle and the rapidity with which the process can be run with a total of 40+ cycles.
